Toni Upshaw is a seasoned healthcare executive and regulatory compliance consultant with over 15 years of frontline and leadership experience spanning emergency medical services, psychiatric nursing, infection prevention, and healthcare quality. Raised in Chicago and now based in the Seattle area, Toni began her healthcare career as an EMT, spending eight years providing 911 response and operating within mobile critical care units.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Sciences from Arizona State University (2014) and a Nursing degree from Scottsdale Community College (2018). Her academic and clinical training includes a Leadership Preceptorship at Chandler Regional Medical Center, where she worked in both the Medical and Trauma Intensive Care Units. Toni also completed hands-on clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic Hospital, where she built advanced foundational skills in interventional radiology, endoscopy, and the cardiac electrophysiology and catheterization labs—experience that continues to inform her precise, systems-level approach to care.

A certified Associate in Infection Prevention and Control (A-IPC), Toni has more than five years of specialized experience in infection control and regulatory compliance across a wide range of healthcare settings. Her clinical and leadership background spans acute psychiatric care for adolescents and adults—both voluntary and involuntary—as well as treatment of substance use disorders and medical detox.

Toni has served in several high-impact leadership roles, including Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Clinical Nurse Educator, Infection Control Officer, and Director of Quality Assurance & Process Improvement. She has successfully led organizations through complex licensure and accreditation surveys, consistently driving improvements in safety, regulatory readiness, and clinical performance. Currently, she oversees infection control consulting services across healthcare facilities in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

Known for her calm presence, strategic acumen, and commitment to ethical excellence, Toni is a trusted leader and advisor in the healthcare space. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, golf, and hiking with her beloved dog
